Book Now Pay Later

‘Book now pay later’: the clue is in the name! With this mode of holiday financing, you can book your holiday now without having to pay the full balance until closer to the departure date.

When booking with Dona Kirkham – Travel Counsellors, you can currently book long haul holidays up to 11 months in advance and for holidays in Europe, you can book all the way ahead to Summer 2025 and Winter 25/26.

You can book from 18 months before the departure date and won’t need to pay the balance in full until 12 weeks before departure.

This means that you can book holidays way in advance without having all of the money available at this moment in time. This can also be a handy way of paying for holidays when booking for a big group of people, who all want to pay at different times.

When financing a holiday in this way, it’s a good idea to create a budget, to help you save the money needed to pay the final balance. You can create your budget here using Red Star Education‘s FREE budget calculator

Does this Make my Holiday more Expensive?

No! When you pay for a holiday in this manner, you won’t be charged any interest and will end up paying the same amount as you would if you paid the full balance up front.

You will be required to pay a small deposit, which may be something like £60 for a short haul holiday destination, and for long haul holidays around 10% of the full holiday cost.

You also have the option to drip feed extra payments in between paying this deposit and paying the remaining balance 12 weeks before you leave. When you do this, any money you pay remains 100% with Travel Counsellors, as it is protected in their financial trust rather than being passed over to the operator. You can make any payments over the telephone, their app, or via a secure link on email.

Free Child Places

If you book early with Dona Kirkham – Travel Counsellors, you may also be able to benefit from free child places. In many cases, this means that you can get a spot for your child, or children, on the holiday for completely free! For this deal to be offered, you usually have to have two full-paying adults in each room.

Things to bear in mind:

-Free child places are often tied to certain flight times, which aren’t always the best times to fly

-Free child places are limited to a certain number per flight and aren’t always available on every flight. Therefore, the earlier your holiday is booked, the more opportunities there are to find free child places and benefit from the discount
